Christiane is a botanical artist and educator based in New York City. She specialises in depicting enlarged lichens in colored pencil. Borrowing from her architectural training, she uses scale and perspective to highlight the fascinating, often unnoticed features of her subjects. Her work explores the threatened relationships of native flora, funga, and insects, and juxtaposes changes in colour and form across damp, dry, and desiccated conditions.

In 2026, Christiane was honoured with a Gold Medal and the People’s Choice Award in the Royal Horticultural Society's Botanical Art and Photography Show. She is a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists and a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and the Colored Pencil Society of America. She was awarded the 2022 ASBA Esther Plotnick Artist Grant, the 2023 ASBA Lizzie Sanders New Artist Award, and a Silver Medal for the New York Botanical Garden’s Fifth Triennial in 2024. Her work is in the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation and in private collections.
