Liz Campbell has spent her working life in outdoor education in a variety of contexts. She is a qualified coach in mountaineering, kayaking and orienteering and also enjoys skiing, sailing and cycling. Her father used to paint oil landscapes, which she tried to copy as a child. Her botanical art journey began 45 years later with a watercolour night class and after moving to Edinburgh for family reasons, she gained a Diploma in Botanical Illustration at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh. She now enjoys identifying different lichen species and hopes that through her art she can open more people’s eyes to the wonderful environment around us.
