Australian-born Lucy T Smith has been a professional botanical artist for over 25 years. Based in London since the year 2000, she is an established freelance botanical artist for Kew Gardens, producing hundreds of scientific illustrations in both watercolour and pen and ink for many projects, including Palms of New Guinea and her independent project, illustrating the giant Victoria waterlilies. She has received numerous international awards and teaches botanical illustration at Kew and other venues. Lucy believes that the best botanical illustrations combine both beauty and science, and this guiding principle informs all her work. BA (Visual Arts), MA (Creative Arts).
