Mally trained in 1988 under Anne-Marie Evans FLS, becoming a Fellow of the Chelsea Physic Gardens in 2001. Moving to Cornwall in 1997, she lived in a private area in the Lost Gardens of Heligan where she held regular botanical painting classes. Mally was the first tutor of botanical painting at the Eden Project in 2001 becoming the founder chairman of their Florilegium and also a Fellow. She retired as chairman in 2012 and was created a Fellow of the Linnean Society. Her beautiful study of the Babington Leek was on the cover of the ABBA Worldwide Botanical Art Day’s brochure.
