Barbara Jeppe

Barbara Jeppe was born in a small town in South Africa in 1921. Her Mother introduced her to the local flowers, and her fascination grew ever since. Twenty years into her marriage, she began her first works, a book which helped her leave a mark on the field of Botanical Art. She was awarded two Gold Medals in 1990, one from the Botanical Society of South Africa and another for her contributions to South African Botanical Art. She died at the age of 78 as a result of pneumonia.
