Ingrid Finnan

USA

Born 1944

After a long career designing for the decorative textile market, Ingrid Finnan turned to botanical art. Inspired by the Dutch floral painters of the 17th and 18th centuries, and by the work of Raymond Booth, the British botanical artist who painted in oils, it followed as a natural choice for her to explore this medium. For the last thirteen years she has painted on gessoed paper in oil. She enjoys the flexibility and depth of color that the medium allows. She has showed widely since 2006 in many juried exhibitions.
