Born in Sriracha, a district in Chonburi Province of Thailand, Phansakdi Chakkaphak studied in Bangkok at Chulalongkorn University, and in Chicago at the University of Illinois. He has been a prolific designer and illustrator of publications on botanical art, and his work has been exhibited in Bangkok, San Francisco, and New York, including a solo exhibition, Beauty in Bloom, at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, 2009.

Working as a freelance botanical artist since 1999, he has created a great many paintings and has a lot of collectors, mostly from Thailand - however Dr Shirley Sherwood OBE has bought several of his works, which are now a significant part of the Shirley Sherwood Collection
