Born and growing up in Rio de Janeiro, Alice was a graduate of the Fine Arts School in Rio, Masters Degree in Botany, as well as the Margaret Mee Artist Scholar in 2004 at RBG, Kew. Alice was the winner of the "Anne Ophelia Dowden Award" 2009, for illustrations of plants from Campina and Campinarama AmazĂ´nica. Her work has been exhibited around the world and featured in many books and magazines. Alice is currently working on two illustrated guides and a book about bryophytes from Fernando de Noronha and Trindade Islands as well as training botanical artists. She has had her own Botanical Art Studio in Rio since 2006 and has work in collections of the Hunt Institute, Kew, New York State Museum, RBGE Florilegium and numerous private collections.
