Jane Wormell was born in Leicestershire, in 1960, and studied with her Father, at the Hornsey College of Art. She has been exhibiting her work since the 80's, and has work featured in many private art exhibitions around the World.
Jane works from a studio in North London where she has created a flower-filled courtyard garden, where she gathers the subjects that inspire her paintings. Jane's work encompass small, intense studies of individual plants and large expansive canvases of hedgerows and flower borders. She is driven by her love of plants and the English landscape, and a quiet intensity and northern light infuses her work. She is interested in the structure of the plants but also the atmosphere they create and their relationship with the vegetation around them.
