Lizzie Sanders was born in 1944, and studied at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, and after a career in Design in New York and Italy, returned to Scotland and began Botanical Art. She presented her work at the RHS three times, winning Gold Medals in each appearance and she worked as a tutor in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh.
