Sally Arnold was born in Stutterheim, South Africa in 1954. She gained a diploma in Fine Arts in 1974 at Cape Technical College, Cape Town, before moving to Antwerp, Belgium on a bursary to Koninklijke, Academie voor Schone Kunsten. She completed her Masters in Art History at J.W. Goethe University in Frankfurt in 1983 and a Diploma in Botanical Art at the SBA in the UK in 2020. Sally is inspired by rare and endangered flora and fauna and likes to magnify small details. Her current drawings focus on the movement of plants and blossoms, rare inflorescences, seedpods and the ephemeral language of plants.
