Victoria Braithwaite

Scotland

Born 1973

Working mainly in watercolour, Victoria has focused for the last several years exclusively on botanical subjects, becoming interested in weathering, decay and transformation. She aims to capture the individuality of a her subject at a specific point in time when it’s at its most visually interesting, rather than looking for a ‘perfect’ botanical example. She likes to work larger than life to highlight detail and texture. Having exhibited in specialist botanical society exhibitions, as well as several open national competitions, her work has been admired for its light, drama and impact. She is a founding member of the Scottish Society of Botanical Artists, a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and was previously elected to Associate Member of the Society of Botanical Artists.
