Having grown up with nature books and frequent visits to the parks and gardens in her hometown, Kyoto, Japan, Asuka's curiosity towards nature grew tremendously. Naturally, she was drawn to the nature surrounded her. After completing her Master of Fine Art degree at the University of Kyoto in 1997, she spent ten years in NYC delving more into her works. Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions around the world. Now, she lives and works in Hyogo, Japan. 
Asuka was awarded the Diane Bouchier Award in 2018 and has shown her work around the world in China, Tokyo, Kew, London, New York, Italy, Singapore and Hawaii to great acclaim.
